about the experience.

Our private guided sauna bathing ritual will take you through a specially designed sequence to take the body through heating and cooling to maximise the sauna’s health and wellbeing benefits.

This 65-minute sauna ritual will gently warm the body to promote healthy sweating, boost blood circulation, detoxify and cleanse the skin and promote relaxation. As the heat intensifies, the option to cool off with a sea dip or cool shower provides the perfect contrast.

thermal leaf whisking.

A traditional in-sauna treatment enjoyed across Nordic, Baltic and Russian saunas. A natural leaf whisk of birch or oak leaves is used to cleanse and massage the skin, promoting healthy blood circulation. When combined with steam from the sauna stones, the leaf whisks release wonderfully calming aromas that can help reduce inflammation, offer gentle antimicrobial benefits, and deliver direct thermal warmth to soothe aching muscles or areas of tension.

Rooted in centuries-old sauna culture, thermal whisking (often known as vihta, vasta or venik) also helps open the pores, exfoliate the skin, and stimulate the body’s natural detoxification processes. The rhythmic sweeping, tapping and brushing motions create a deeply grounding, almost meditative experience that encourages relaxation of both the body and the mind.

As the leaves warm and soften, essential oils are released, filling the sauna with fresh, forest-like fragrances. This natural aromatherapy enhances breathing, supports a deeper sauna heat, and leaves the skin feeling revitalised, toned and nourished. The result is a holistic thermal ritual that connects you to the ancient healing traditions of sauna while offering a powerful, sensory form of wellbeing.

what is a sauna master?

A Sauna Master is a guardian of sauna tradition — a guide who shapes the atmosphere, rituals and sensory journey within the heat. Rooted in the long-standing customs of Finland and the wider Nordic world, the role goes far beyond tending the stove. A Sauna Master understands the rhythms of heat and steam, the subtleties of breath and relaxation, and the natural elements that have supported wellbeing in saunas for centuries.

Traditionally in Finland, the Sauna Master is responsible for creating löyly — the soft, enveloping steam that defines an authentic sauna experience. Through careful control of temperature, humidity and the timing of steam infusions, they guide bathers into deeper states of calm and restoration. Their craft is built on intuition, training and a deep respect for sauna as a cultural and near-sacred space of cleansing, community and healing.

Drawing from Finnish heritage, our Sauna Masters work in harmony with nature to create an atmosphere that feels both grounding and restorative. Natural leaf whisks, pure water, sea salt, natural aromas and the gentle crackle of the stove are the core elements of the experience. Each infusion of steam is intentional and unforced, guided by an understanding of how heat, humidity and scent interact to support deep relaxation. This nature-led approach keeps the sauna rooted in its origins: a quiet, nurturing space where the senses soften and the mind settles.
